County Line's Coolest Kids!

WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN!!!

Hi and welcome to Ms. Urban's Kindergarten Class Blog. We are an amazing group of Kindergarteners at County Line Elementary in New Braunfels, Texas. We call ourselves the Letter Land Kids because we are crazy about reading and writing!!! We read and write our way through all the subjects and have a blast doing so! We love school and love all that we learn. We hope you enjoy stopping by our blog from time to time to check out what we are up to!

Cabin Fever!

Happy Friday!

Goodness, Winter has arrived! I woke up this morning feeling like I was back in New Mexico! We didn't have a whole lot of nice weather to play in outside, but we made up for it in our amazing new Science Lab. Be sure to ask the kids about all the fun things we learned about.
The Math benchmark went well and we are looking foward to having Monday off for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. DON'T COME TO SCHOOL :) Also, coming up on January 30, we will have a half day of school. This is built in our calendar so that teachers can meet with the parents and confer on the student's progress. It is normally only for parents of students who are struggling in one or more areas, so I will be contacting you to set up a time to come in. However; I would love to share the progress of every child and am willing to meet whenever. Please email me and let me know if you are interested. I will have from 1:00-5:00pm open that day, and can meet any other day T-F from 4:00-5:00. I also have my conference time daily (2:15-3:00) Thanks!

I have made new sections in the lower half of my blog to let you know what we learned in each subject area this week. There are also a few new additions on the side bar! Please scroll down to read up on us!

Before I close, please make attention to the note below referring to the Gifted and Talented Program. Diana Flores requested we post it in our newsletters.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Miss Urban

NOMINATIONS FOR NBISD PROGRAM
FOR GIFTED and TALENTED STUDENTS

Nominations for NBISD’s Program for Gifted and Talented Students will be available in the school office from January 7 - 30, 2008. All nominations must be received in the school office by January 30, 2008.

The NBISD GT Program serves gifted/talented students in grades K-12.

If you know of a student who is not currently identified as gifted/talented, you may want to nominate him/her for the Gifted and Talented Program. Further information about the GT Program is available in the NBISD GT parent handbook located on the district’s website.

Nomination does not assure placement in the GT Program but does assure consideration for it. Nominated students who qualify for the GT Program will begin services in the Fall of 2008. If you have specific questions regarding the NBISD GT program, please contact Elisa Racanelli, Director of Special Programs at 830-643-5739.
